THE NATHANIEL ALLIS HOUSE
Madison, Conn.
Early in the 18th Century, Nathaniel Allis came to
Madison, then East Guilford, from Bolton, Conn.
In 1739 he built this house and married Hannah
Scranton, daughter of John Scranton III. She died
in 1758, aged 65 years. Allis' second wife was
Hannah Norton who died in 1785. Allis lived here
for 65 years and died in 1804, aged 89.
