Additional Details:
Samuel Clemens known as Mark Twain, author, built this home in 1874. In 20 years residence, he wrote Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Some unusual features include the "Pilot House", all the family enjoyment rooms faced in away from the street, a reversal of the usual trend. The Harriet Beecher Stowe house is directly behind, on Forest Street.
