COOLIDGE DAM
ARIZONA
The first and largest multiple-arch dam ever
built. It was named for President Calvin
Coolidge and was dedicated by him in 1930.
The top of the dam is 259 feet above bed-
rock; its domes are twenty-one feet thick at
the base and four feet thick at the top. This
dam backs up San Carlos Lake which
abounds in good fishing. The dam provides
electric power and irrigation water for the
valley.
