The court yards of the "Vieux Carre" or old quarter of New Orleans, constitute its greatest charm, unique inheritances from the Creole settlers of the old city. Many of them are filled with beautiful gardens which are usually just temptingly visible through arched drive- ways like that at the right of the picture.
