the home of the Society of the Daughters of the
American Revolution, which has a membership of
nearly 70,000 women of the purest American strain.
Delegates come great distances yearly to attend the
Continental Congress, on which occasion the Presi-
dent of the United States always greets them.
is an incorporated body, making an annual report
to the Smithsonian Institution and officially rec-
ognized by the Government. The building is of
white marble and cost $350,000
