Lake Santeetlah, End of Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Just outside the southwestern end of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are three beautiful lakes made by power dams built by the Aluminum Company of America. Lake Santeetlah, a bit of which is seen here, has a shore line of more than eighty miles. A state highway (N. C. No. 108) which with Tennessee highway No. 72, skirts the southwestern end of the park, follows along the shore of Lake Santeetlah for ten miles |
