Saddlebag Lake

| This lake is located north of the Tioga Pass road and above the old mining camp of Lundy. This 10,051 foot high lake is a great fishing place and hikers take off here for the back country. Evidence of glaciation is found in the Area. Trails follow the canyon to Lundy where in 1878 William Lundy built a sawmill to supply the new mining camp of Body. Gold was discovered in 1879 by William Wasson, same year Lundy found gold and named the mine after his daughter May Lundy . . . M.P. |
