This new and costly building of light brick
and freestone, the home of the Salem Y. M. C.
A., was built in 1898. Its auditorium is named
Ames Hall in honor of George L. Ames, a bene-
factor of the association. There are bowling
alleys, a fine swimming tank, and well equipped
gymnasium.
