SU-LIN, THE GIANT PANDA

Su-Lin, the baby Giant Panda, was about six weeks old
at the time of her capture in the Province of Szechwan.
China. She was between four and five months old in
February, 1937, when she reached the Brookfield Zoo near
Chicago, where she was on exhibition until the time of
her death, April 1, 1938. Su-Lin was the first Giant Panda
to be brought out of China alive and to be exhibited in
captivity.
