MUSK OX
(Ovibos moschatus)
The musk ox is not one of the true cattle but is more
closely related to the goats and sheep. It is well adapted to
the climate of the treeless Arctic. Its thick woolly coat
allows the musk ox to disregard the storms and severe cold.
Food consisting of lichens, mosses, bushes; and grass is
found by pawing away the snow.
