GRIZZLY BEAR
(Ursus horribilis)
The grizzly, once monarch of the western plains and
mountains, has been nearly exterminated in the United
States, except in the Yellowstone National Park, Grizzly
bears eat most kinds of animals, from ants to bison, and
many plants. In this group, the mother rips open a log for
ants and grubs. The young are able to climb, although
old grizzlies do not.
