B-3-NIGHT TIME SCENE IN INNER COURT OF RINGLING ART MUSEUM,
3A-H875
BETWEEN BRADENTON AND SARASOTA, FLA.
Back:
Representing the consummation of an ideal,
there has been builded by Mr. and Mrs. John
Ringling the second largest Art Museum in
the United States. The building has 22 side-
lighted galleries, from 40 to 110 feet long. For
the most part the paintings from the Byzantine
schools and the trecento to the nineteenth
century, hang in separate period rooms. Eighty-
eight sculptures adorn the space between the
rim of the building and the garden or patio.
In the center space of the garden, topping
one of the largest stages in America, is to be
seen one of these, the Michael Angelo,
"David." The largest individually-owned col-
lection of Rubens in the world is housed in
this Museum.
