My dad was a 6'8" tall swimming instructor and cabana boy at the McFadden Deauville hotel in the late 1940-1950s. The pool was round and huge with big dark pumps and pipes in the center. The diving board was 4 or 5 levels high. 2 kids under age 10 spent hours every day diving because their dad wanted them in Olympics. Don't know names or if they made it.I was told I swam width of pool at 8 months and was on WTVJ ch 4

Melanie's dad taught me to swim. He was renowned for tossing a baby into the pool to show that they could swim.
