The Statue of Liberty on Bedloe's Island in New
York Harbor was conceived in 1865 by Edward de
Laboulaye, the eminent French historian and was
designed and executed by Bartholdi, the French
Color Card
sculptor. It was the gift of the people of France FROM KODACHROME
to the people of the United States.
