INDEPENDENCE NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK

CONGRESS HALL was constructed in 1787-89 as the
Philadelphia County Court House. It served as the
meeting place for the Federal Congress from 1790-1800.
During the 19th century it housed Federal and local
courts.
