SEASHORE TROLLEY MUSEUM
Kennebunkport, Maine
Once a familiar sight in the City of Brotherly Love,
this so-called "Nearside" car from Philadelphia is
one of the trolleys of yesteryear preserved at the
Seashore Trolley Museum at Kennebunkport, Maine.
No. 6618 was built by J. G. Brill of Philadelphia
in 1912. Because its trucks were designed for the
city's track gauge of 5 ft. 24 in., they had to be
rebuilt so the car could be operated on Seashore's
standard (4 ft. 8/2 in.) gauge trackage,
"World's
Museum."
