Above Hawaii-Oahu, Pearl Harbor
Additional Details:
Pearl Harbor, originally Wai Momi ("Pearl Waters" because of the presence of oyster-bearing pearls) was first opened to large deep water ships in 1898 when the U.S. Navy blasted out the reef across its entrance. Brought to the world's attention on "the day of infamy", December 7, 1941, it is now the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Pacific Fleet. |
