PORTLAND, OREGON
The Willamette River divides the city in two. The
main business area in the background is located
on the west bank. The river has facilities to ac-
commodate large ocean going vessels. Portland
is the largest grain shipping port on the west
coast. The Willamette enters the Columbia just a
very few miles north, which then turns west on its
Iway to the Pacific Ocean.
