HANCOCK SHAKER VILLAGE
On U.S. Route 20
5 miles west of Pittsfield, Mass.
Round Stone Barn, built in 1826 and restored in
1968, epitomizes the Shakers' understanding of
functional architecture. It housed 52 head of dairy
cattle and 400 tons of hay.
