Ephraim Wales Bull
Additional Details:
Ephraim Wales Bull in attempting to find the best and earliest grape found a seedling at the foot of the hill that was ripe in August and of good quality. He sowed the seeds in the autumn of 1843 beside this, his cottage, now known as Grapevine Cottage in Concord, Massachusetts. Thus was born the Concord Grape. Bull, buried in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, locked the shrewdness to profit from this development. His epitaph reads ?He sowed, Others Reaped.? |
