COGGESWELL FOUNTAIN
Fall River, Mass.
In 1882 the Coggeswell Fountain was built on the
north side of the Old City Hall. Ice was placed
in the well to cool the water in the summer.
Inscribed thereon:
Citizens and Strangers
Drink Freely of this Cooling Stream.
It will promote Temperance
Faith, Hope and Charity.
Moved and preserved at the Historical Society
until Nov. 1975. Placed in this Park as a gift to
the City of Fall River from the Financial and
Business Community.
