guide through the Narrows. Dubbed "Bug Light," face-
fiously, from its squat appearance. Black lantern on white
hexagonal building; pile foundation. Carries a fixed red
light of the fifth order, 45 feet above mean high water, visible
8 nautical miles. Established 1856.
