Menomonie, Wis. Is on the Red Cedar River and Lake Menomonie 66 miles from St. Paul. It was named by Capt. Wm. Wilson, in 1846, for the Indian tribe of that name. The word means “Wild Rice”. There are extensive manufacturing interests here. The surrounding region is a fine agricultural and stock-raising district. |
