| The interesting prehistoric cliff ruins in the Canyon of El Rito de los Frijoles are included in the Bandelier National Monument. The latter is on the Pajarito Plateau west of the Rio Grande River and northwest of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The only approach to the ruins by motor is through a country of exceptional scenic and human interest. Quaint Spanish-American settlements and the inhabited Indian pueblo of San Ildefonso are passed before the beautiful Pajarito canyon country is entered. |
