Congress Hall, 6th & Chestnut Streets adjoining Independence Hall
Additional Details:
This was the Capitol of the United States from 1790 to 1800 – the temporary seat of the Senate and the House of Representatives. This was the scene of Washington's second term inauguration (1793), and the inauguration of John Adams as the second President of the United States (1797). Here, too, were established the U. S. Navy, the Mint, and the Bank of the United States. |
