The Olympic Torch Bearer lighting the Lake Placid Flame
at the Opening Ceremonies which featured elaborate
pageantry. The Flame was carried by air, sea and land
from Greece, the last lap being a 1000 mile run from
Yorktown, Va. to Lake Placid, by Relay Teams.
