The Navajo Indian is tall, extremely agile, but rather slender. Both sexes, while still young, ride a pony with ease and comfort. The men are famous for their ability in running. At first meeting, the Navajos are seemingly unfriendly, but on close acquaintanceship they reveal a great store of humor and a cheerful disposition. They are fond of games. They cultivate orchards, raise corn and melons, and large quantity of beans and possess an enormous flock of sheep. The women are expert weavers and many of the men famous silversmiths.
