Cinderella was pretty but had a wicked stepmother who made her work hard and sleep in a garret because she was prettier than her own daughters. And so it happened one night, when everybody had gone to the Prince's ball, that Cinderella was sad because she was left at home. Just then in popped her fairy godmother, and when she found what was the matter She touched her with her wand, and lo she was dressed in beautiful clothes So Cinderella went to the bal. Now, her fairy mother said she must be home by 12 o'clock, and in hurrying she dropped one of her glass shoes. When the Prince found it he said he would marry the lady it fitted. It fitted Cinderella, so she married the Prince, forgave everybody, and lived happily |
