President Reagan accepts a GET WELL card sent
by the White House staff. Prior to entering
surgery, his twinkling humor shone through as
he bantered with his wife and doctors, saying he
"forgot to duck". Exhibiting great recuperative
powers, Reagan soon bounced back from the in-
juries and was up and about, visiting the other
wounded members of his entourage. April 8,
1981.
