The Reagan's California ranch retreat, aptly
named Rancho del Cielo, "Ranch in the Sky",
nestles 2,200 feet above the Pacific Ocean on
688 acres of rugged terrain in the Santa Ynez
mountains. The 100 year old adobe was lovingly
restored, serving nicely as a background for
Reagan's memorabilia and western decorations.
The five room house depends on two fireplaces
for heat and the President pridefully chops the
wood and keeps it stacked high. "This place has
a spell", the President said, "and people feel it
when they come here."
