In a pre-election physical, White House physician Dr. Paul
Ruge declared President Reagan to be in "extremely good
health, active, and in better physical condition" than most
men his age. (Born February 6, 1911; height 6'1"; weight,
190 pounds) For exercise Reagan likes to go horseback
riding, chop wood and swim. He enjoys riding in the Vir-
ginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. and at his ranch in Cali-
fornia. As you can see, his rugged good health and com-
plete recovery from the March 1981 assassination attempt,
enables him to do the hefty chores attached to saddling
up and post-ride care of the horses. November 26, 1984
