One of the greatest innovations in the American
fire service during the past 20 years has been the
introduction of the "Squirt". This 55 foot articu-
lating or telescoping elevated master stream device,
a 1974 Pirsch, 1000 gallon per minute diesel
pumper, manufactured by Pitman and in service
in Louisville, Ky. fire department.
