OCRACOKE LIGHTHOUSE
OCRACOKE ISLAND, NORTH CAROLINA
Built in 1823, this historic beacon is the second
oldest in use on the Atlantic coast. The houses on
Ocracoke are laid out in Old World irregularity
along streets of sand overhung with moss-covered
oaks and yaupon.
