Records, dating back to 1753, include many famous
names, such as Daniel Boone, Andrew Jackson,
Zebulon Vance and others. Old deeds attest to the
fact that Salisbury was in existence as the trader's
"Camping Site" long before 1755 when the first
court house was erected.
