TROPICAL BUTTERFLY. Danaus plexippus. The Monarch butterfly is
noted in the U.S.A. for its great migratory treks in the Spring from Cali-
fornia and Florida up towards Canada, and in the Autumn, later generations
of butterflies travelling South again in enormous swarms.
