THE CHOW CHOW is a native of China where its
history dates back to at least 150 B.C. They have
been used in China for almost every purpose a dog
could serve, from a watch dog and guardian of the
home to a hunting dog and also for food and fur.
They were first imported to England in the 1800's.
In the 1920's it ranked among the most popular
breeds of the United States.
