Mere words cannot describe with justice a trip
through the Royal Gorge. This far-famed defile is
traversed annually by thousands of sightseers. It
is the rift in the mountain range through which
the Arkansas River bursts to freedom and the
plains. The entire eight miles of the Gorge is
ever offering an unexpected vista. At the point
where the canon narrows to thirty feet, the re-
markable hanging bridge has been constructed.
