Convention Hall, built in 1931 at a cost of $5,300,000,
has been pronounced the finest building of its kind in the
U. S. The building is of marble, limestone, concrete and
steel and covers an area of 408 ft. with a seating capacity of
14,000 in the main Auditorium. It also has 23 smaller
rooms capable of seating 50 to 1800. It was the scene of
the Democratic National Convention in 1936.
