The "Robert Fluton" constructed at the great works of the New York Shipbuilding Co. at Camden, N. J. for the Hudson River Day Line service between New York and Albany will go in commission on May 29, 1909. It is 348 feet in length with a beam of 76 feet, and has a capacity of 4000 passengers, Built, asfar as practicable, entirely of steel, glass, and asbestolith, with metaltrim, this steamer is almost absolutely fire proof and with its sumptuous decorations makes a worthy and beautiful memorial to the great engineer whose name she bears, and an adornment to the beautiful river he loved so well.
