This house, 38 miles south of Louisville and
% of a mile east of Bardstown has 7 rooms
22 x 22 feet, ceiling height 15 feet, a hall 15
x 50 feet running through the center. Here
August, 1830, Stephen Collins Foster, antol
of many negro melodies, wrote "My O1%
tucky Home." The House, built in 1798
Foster's uncle, John Rowan, later Juden and 936 Z
U. S. Senator, is a replica of Independence Hall
