Additional Details:
A set of rolls are made of chilled cast iron, turned to a cylindrical form, and are journaled at their ends in either a housing of cast iron or masonry. The Carnegie Steel Works have some of the largest rolls in the world for making armor plates. The rolling mill was invented by Henry Cort, an Englishman, in 1783.
