The Room in which Washington died is the south bedroom of Mt. Vernon Mansion. It contains the original bed and among other furniture a chair which belonged to Washington's mother. Martha Washington's bedroom is in the attic of Mt. Vernon Mansion. Washington's bedroom was closed at his death and she occupied this one until the end. Christ Church, Alexandra, Va., was completed in 1773. George Washington was one of its first vestrymen, and the new occupied by him and his family is still preserved.
