In addition to the usual method of drilling and 4,079F
blasting, the evaporation process for mining sait is
also used. Fresh water is forced down through pipes
to the salt vein, the brine thus formed is pumped
to the surface and evaporated. In this process, the
salt is never touched by human hands.
