Tower On Mount Coolidge
Additional Details:
Mount Coolidge, formerly called sheep Mountain, was re-named after the visit of president Calvin Coolidge to the Black Hills in 1927. A good auto road leads to the top of the Mountain, altitude 6,400 feet, from where a vista unequaled in beauty is obtainable. From a fire lookout tower, 75 feet high, the vigilance of forest rangers guards against devastating fires and protect mountain timber. |
