INTERMOUNTAIN SCHOOL AUDITORIUM
Established in 1949
Brigham City, Utah
One of the 140 buildings on the 300-acre campus, the Audi-
torium has a seating capacity of 1,000. It is used for general
assemblies, picture shows, and religious worship. The stu-
dent body of 2,200 Navajo Indians, ages 12 to 18, comes from
the 16-million-acre reservation in northern Arizona and New
Mexico. These poverty-stricken children lived in one-room,
earth-floored hogans, and knew no English before coming
here. A special Five-Year Program emphasizes the three R's,
white man's customs, and vocational training. Academic pro-
gress and social adjustment are amazingly rapid. Visitors
are always welcome.
