The deserts of Arizona are not monotonous
or lifeless-but are picturesque and beautiful.
Plant life is not wanting. The Saguaro cactus
is plentiful, towering to a height of 30 to 60
feet.
The cucumber cactus is fiercely thorny with
crimson flowers and a fruit which contains
an edible seedy pulp of pleasant flavor. The
yucca cactus has large cream colored flowers
which are very beautiful.
