J.W.M. Turner, R.A., the celebrated artist, was born in 1775 and died in 1851. He is famous as a colourist, and his works display great originally and imagination. He left a large number of his pictures to the nation, among them being "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage," which now hangs in the National Gallery. |
