Series MA1870 Oak Bluffs has always remained a popular summer resort, but was allowed to slowly fall into a decline until recent years when renewed interest in the cottages was aroused. Many of the ornate old summer houses are being restored and brought back to a state of their former glory. Gingerbread cottages of the camp meeting grounds were built on the tent sites of the early camp meetings which began in 1835. |
