Series P-10a Fort De Soto Park, Florida, 12 miles southwest of St. Petersburg, at the mouth of Tampa Bay. This park is made up of seven islands with seven miles of tropical coastline and three miles of beautiful beaches (picture shows North Beach on the Gulf of Mexico). The park provides two Fishing Piers (picture shows the 1040-foot Andrew Patter Pier on the Gulf), palm studded picnic and camping grounds, immaculate rest room facilities, an excellent restaurant, and old Fort De Soto of Spanish-American War fame. The entire area is owned by Pinellas County, and operated by the Park Department. |
