A model of the fireproof, bombproof vault that
protects the Declaration of Independence, the
Constitution, and the Bill of Rights can be
seen in the Exhibition Hall of the National
Archives. The model operates every half hour
to demonstrate how the documents are low-
ered and raised from the vault.
